Friends, Family, Contributors, and Heirloomist Community,
Time to saddle up! Tomorrow, we ride. Tuesday, April 30 is launch day for our first book, The Heirloomist: 100 Treasures and the Stories They Tell.
I’m sending a HUGE high five to all of you for your incredible support and encouragement. We did it! We made a book!
Not sure if you heard, but I made a threat. If my book goes best seller, I am getting a perm. I did it once, I will do it again. Better buy a few more books if you have time.
In other news, the coming week is action packed so a few announcements:
1. The Heirloomist is will be chatting heirlooms on WNYC radio show All of It on Tuesday April 30 at 12pmEST. A surprise book contributor will be calling in.
2. Watch for The Heirloomist in the press along with Oprah, Nate Berkus, and Gloria Steinem on April 30 and May 1. Might need someone to help me off the floor by the evening….
3. On May 1, The Heirloomist will be featured on GOOD MORNING AMERICA. Our segment airs on GMA3 at 1pm EST. (Check your local listing for times.) Watch me get awkward on TV, that’s always fun.
4. We will soon be announcing the winners of our cork print and commission contests so if you haven’t, email us a picture of your book purchase from an independent bookstore to be considered. It’s not too late! Purchases this week count x2.
FLASH YOUR BOOKS. Once you receive your book(s), send or post pictures with your book. The most inventive, fun, or hilarious post or story wins a 16x20 print of their choice from the Heirloomist Archive. Tag @theheirloomist on Instagram.
My last demand is this: SO many of you have already purchased my book and I am grateful. I’d like to up the ante. Would you purchase one more to gift to friends, family, a local library, or community center? Books sales are my best chance of getting these special stories onto as many coffee tables (and into as many hearts) as possible. We’ll send signed book plates on demand, just let us know where.
Love you guys! See you on the other side! Thanks for being here with me. -Shana
Yeehaw! We ride at dawn! Giddeyup Shana!
